In 1961 Gentofte Hotel laid the foundation stone for what was to become the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. The hotel, that today is a hotel with all modern facilities, was earlier named Gjentofte Inn and it dates back to the year 1600. It is said that the Royal Family used the inn for lunch breaks on their way to and from Fredensborg Castle.
